The news media refers to the section of the mass media that focuses on presenting current news to the public. These include print media (newspapers, magazines); broadcast media (radio stations, television stations, television networks), and increasingly Internet-based media (World Wide Web pages, weblogs). The term news trade refers to the concept of the news media as a business separate from, but integrally connected to, the profession of journalism. The newspaper and consumer magazine industry is set for continued challenges in 2009, with developed country markets likely to be most affected. From Wikipedia under the

Q. I definitely notice that news media has more bad news than good news. I got to admit that hearing too much bad news seems really depressing. Bad news sells more than good news. It's an analogy to saying, people love to get chastised more than getting complimented. Or another analogy could be preferring to get a grade "D" on a course class subject instead of an "A" . Answered by Wiz Justiz - Thu Jul 23 03:16:46 2009 What if the news media found something in the hero pilot's background? Q. Chesley Sullenberger, the pilot of the crashed plane in the Hudson River, has been hailed non-stop for his heroic actions. It's good to finally see hero stories in the news media - seems they've been lacking for years - not that there haven't been numerous ones especially in our military. Did the news media do an intensive investigation into his background before they decided to tell his heroic story - because they would surely be embarassed if it turned out he was another Joe the Plumber. To me, it does not matter what they may find. We all have something we wouldn't want the world to know about ourselves; but that doesn't take away the fact this was a true Miracle to land a plane on water with no deaths. Both of the pilots and the crew and the rescue workers and even some of the passengers all should feel at peace for their parts in this miracle no matter what mistakes or bad things they may have done before this.
